Enigma
Enigma was founded in 1886 and incorporated in 1906 by act of the Georgia Assembly. Histories of the town's name have been debated, with varying answers to why and how the town became named Enigma.
The town grew up along the Brunswick and Western Railroad, which came to that area in 1888, and which connected Brunswick with Albany, Georgia. This alone certainly had a profound effect on the town’s creation.
